It all started over this land, the Spanish wanted riches and the Navajo wanted their land. The Spanish took over, powering over the Navajo AND Pueblo. They took over the Pueblos villages and converted them to be Christians. They Pueblos were also forced to be slaves, they had to care for the animals, crops, and houses. They Navajo were able to avoid mush of this conflict, for they lived on small farms spread over the the wide countryside. That’s when the Pueblo and Navajo helped each other out. The Pueblo rebelled against slavery in 1680. They killed many Spanish and drove the rest of them South. The Navajo came in and captured many of the escaped Spanish livestock and moved North away from it all. The Spanish came back and had more armies this time nobody could over power them. They soon drove the Pueblo north onto the same land as the Navajo had gone to. Now living in the same area, North, the Navajo and Pueblo tribes had to live and struggle together from now on.
