My Literacy Narrative : My Education Narrative Essay

Receiving a grade of a 92 out of 100 on a paper is not necessarily an unacceptable outcome for many people, yet this grade was one of my lowest grades out of all my papers in English 1101. The 92 my literacy narrative earned inspired me to revise this paper for the final. My literacy narrative was my first college paper and after the two papers I have written in this class I thought I was more equipped to fix my errors within this paper. I chose to write a short story as a rendition of my literacy narrative. I thought it would be interesting to write a story through my mom’s perspective, reactions, and impact on my growth as a reader and writer. Writing through another point of view was a difficult process, yet I was also able to focus on fixing my errors, creating a short story, and finding the advantages and disadvantages of using a different form. In my literacy narrative, I was advised to avoid repetitive sentences and to shorten my paper. In my short story, I omitted a few sentences because after revising my literacy narrative multiple times I found that some sentences were repetitive. Along with that, I combined a few sentences together to take the unnecessary words out and to keep the primary topics within the sentences. In addition to that, I excluded the paragraphs that paid attention to the cultural significance of writing and reading for me because after reevaluating the content of those paragraphs I felt this section did not necessarily connect with my topic.…
