Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder where the due to developmental defect of brain, the diseased express significant impairment in social interaction, verbal and non-verbal communication, and restricted and repetitive behaviour. Autism includes a range of disorders (commonly termed as Autism Spectrum Disorder) which is highly heritable and suspected to be caused by genetic and environmental factors and unfortunately it has no known cure [1, 2].
On the other hand music therapy is an intervention that uses music by trained professionals to achieve therapeutic goals for a range of disorders. Music therapy has long been used for maintenance of health and drive towards rehabilitation especially for children. Music therapy in combination with other rehabilitation methods has shown success in enhancing rates of cognitive, communication and sensorimotor rehabilitation [3].
Children with autism usually feels threatened by usual communication approaches and as music is non-verbal, non-threatening medium this can be particularly helpful for improving social behaviour of autistic child [1].

Measured by Social Skills Rating System (SSRS) music therapy has shown success to bring positive change in building social behaviour and cognitive skills through prolonged and repetitive sessions and so far this is the best way to keep children working and expressing themselves ensuring their enjoyment. Like other forms of playing such as toy playing, music therapy is a tool that can reach a child with autism and travel through his mind where other things have failed
