Milk Of Human Kindness Is Just Eating Out By Frank Danny Katz Summary

Improved Essays
Imagine a loved one rushing to work when all of a sudden their car crashes and nobody could do anything about it. One would hope that somebody, anybody would help them out. That’s what happened in the article “Sideswiped by Kindness” a woman named Yitta Halberstam was rushing to work when she hit a bus. She was scared how the driver would react but she was surprised to witness the kindness he gave her. The forgiveness she received inspired happiness in her day, and hope for society that there would be more people like the driver. Kindness plays a large role in society creating happiness for everybody, inspiring hope for people, and promise for forgiveness in our society.
Kindness gives great joy and happiness in society, it gives hope and happiness to everyone who was apart of or witnessed it. Danny Katz talks about in his article “Milk of Human Kindness is just Oozing Out” the purpose of kindness and how it made him so happy. He states this when he says,”Three acts of kindness in just three days. Maybe it’s the spirit of christmas bringing out the best in me”(Katz n. page). Danny Katz talks in his article about how his acts of kindness made him feel. He shows this when he talks about how it made him just as happy as the person who received his acts of kindness. He talks about how he felt he had to help when he said, ”I needed to do something, so when I got home, I gave one hundred bucks to the UNHCR Syrian Crisis Appeal”(Katz n. pag). In another article a man was surprised and happy about the kindness he witnessed over seas. In the article “The kindness of Strangers” Robert Levine talks about the kindness he witnessed in a market in Rangoon, ”Suddenly a man carrying a huge bag of peanuts, called out in pain and fell to the ground… a half a dozen sellers ran from their stalls to help, leaving unattended what may have been the totality of their possessions”(Levine n. pag). This shows the immense amount of kindness in societies and how it made the viewer feel. Along with the viewer I believe the man who had been helped felt immense happiness to be helped in his time of need. Kindness plays many roles in society but the greatest role is the happiness it gives and supplies to each and every person witnessing, receiving and supplying the happiness. Along with joy and happiness kindness can do many things like inspire hope. Kindness inspires hope in our society and helps people live happily. Nicolaus Mills illustrates this in his Article “Kindness Finds place in America” when he says, “moderation and compromise have acquired new respectability. Moral Majority founder Jerry Falwell doesn't seem weak when he reaches out to gays, despite years of gay bashing”(Mills n.page).Jerry Falwell's actions when he reaches out to the gays and gives hope to society and brings happiness with the belief that the there is good in this world and spreading kindness strengthens our hope in kindness in our area. Very similar to inspiring hope for kindness in our area, kindness gives hope for better futures. This is shown in the same article when stated, “a study showing that, since 1977, 13 Illinois death-row inmates were exonerated after their cases were reopened”( Mils n. page). This evidence shows proof that kindness inspires hope in families with relatives in death row and even saves lives. Just even having enough kindness to reopen their cases gives hope back to families. With this I conclude that Kindness plays a role similarly with my last claim that hope, happiness for everybody witnessing, receiving and thinking about kindness in our lives. Kindness can do many things but the

When Rosa Parks sat in the front of the bus it impacted other people because, she showed us that no one deserves to be treated differently just because of the color of there skin. Blacks and Whites have the same rights as human beings. The example from my own life that showed compassion made an impact on me or someone else is when I open the door for a disabled person. By me opening the door to a person that was not able or had a hard time doing it for themselves did not only show compassion, but it also showed respect and understanding towards another person. The second example from current events that showed how compassion made an impact on me or someone else, was when Romanatwood a Youtuber gives a homeless person a doughnut every day.…

It made me question why more people don't just send out random acts of kindness. I think that while we grow up, in most homes we're installed with the words "treat others how you would like to be treated" and, "kindness is key!" however, I feel that the society we are in today has lost sight of these words. Random acts of kindness are a selfless act preformed by a person or people wishing to either assist or cheer up an individual or group of people. Whereas our society is becoming a place of flawed character occasionally committing a random act of kindness can help to rebuild our character and give people…
