Middle management is the intermediate management of a hierarchical organization, being subordinate to the senior management but above the lower levels of operational staff. Operational supervisors may be considered middle management or may be categorized as non-management staff, depending upon the policy of the particular organization.
Middle management may be reduced in organizations as a result of reorganization. Such changes include downsizing, delayering and outsourcing. The changes may be made in order to reduce costs, as middle management is commonly paid more than junior staff, or the changes may be made to make the organization flatter — empowering the employees and making the organization more innovative and …show more content…
Barriers to Communication at WCBC
Wrexham for a long time has taken the need to break down barriers to communication very seriously, diversity policies have been in place for years. This has now been strengthened by the council’s reaction to The Equality Act 2010 came into effect in October 2010.
The equality act aims to break down all the barriers to communication to both customers and staff alike. Everybody should have equal rights and therefore have equal levels of access to information and services.
To assist with this the Authority has developed a Strategic Equality Plan 21012 – 2016. This plan outlines the duties and responsibilities that the Council has, how they will be met, and how they will be measured.
