Jobs are paid revenue streams that are used to support your everyday lifestyle expenses. Their already hard enough dealing with hours for pay, stress, amount of money you should be getting, etc. When you through in workplace conflicts into the mix it’s like a whole different ball game. Interpersonal communication and personal conflict are directly affected by workplace conflicts. In this paper I will disclose some feedback from my executive summary while providing some strategies that helped me overcome my workplace dilemmas.
When talking about my conflict problems in the workplace dealing with my ex-girlfriend I went through so many different emotions like anger, defensiveness, and contempt. It began to become unbearable to the point where

Martin and Jennie R. Ward (2008) have compelled information that backs the claim of humor working during conflict beneficial when they say, “Besides enhancing positive feelings and bonding in relationships, humor can also serve to stabilize a relationship during times of disagreement or conflict. For example, humor can communicate underlying feelings of affection despite overt disagreements, to relieve tension during an argument.”(Lorne Campbell, Rod A. Martin and Jennie R. Ward, 2008, pg.2) This proves humor as a great conflict management style in the workplace especially when you’re somewhat close to those workers and there is no mediator authority such as the boss to deescalate the problem. I was really hurt by his comments, because even though we knew the competitive nature of our jobs I never thought he would take it to the point of belittling me especially since between everyone in the group I and James were the …show more content…
In the future of workplace conflicts I will continue to implement humor and mediators in problems, because I’m not perfect and sometimes I might not be able to see the opposing sides argument We can learn that after reading this paper that conflict is inevitable in the workplace weather good or bad. Someone will always have a differing opinion or in my case have to compare who is better fit for the position, but whether good or bad the foundation of positive communication will prove beneficial in the long
