3D printing is a technology that is constantly evolving and finding better was to take what you image and to materialize into the reality and with this new product they have taken another step further. The Mcor ARKe is the world first 3D printer that can print and build multicolored 3D designs. Designed by a new contender who is coming out on the stage of 3D printing called Mcor Technologies. The secret to this printer lies in what the printer uses for its material and the process it goes through to print out each item. Funny enough, the printer uses paper to get the builds printed and it’s no special kind of paper, it’s just ordinary paper someone would use to load a copier, the only difference is it`s on a spool. Once the paper is fed through …show more content…
Another interesting thing is the formats that this printer can use for printing, which is many more than what you would get out of Makerbot printer, They include, the usual STL and OBJ which uses both use combination of geometric polygons to structure the prints and apply messes. With STL uses more round shapes (i.e. circles) where as OBJ files use more triangles and to help triangulate the build. But ARKe also can print in VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language), DAE (Digital Asset Exchange) and 3MF (3D Manufacturing Format) file formats that are newer formats that help replace some of the problems the older formats faced, which in turn giving the ARKe a larger range of …show more content…
Now with this new technology, and the use of paper instead of heated filament time can be slashed on print jobs making it more convenient for the high paced lives most of us live. The resolution in each print is always the highest quality with it being 0.1 mm, for example, if I were to print a coke can then all the letters would be in alignment along with the barcode as well at which I could scan the barcode and it still work. The ARKe has a wide range or application from the education to the professional business. Among educator it is an ideal tool to help integrate new styles of teaching and bring more diversity within the class. Also the price at which one would use to pay for models and graphics for projects can now be printed at a fraction of the cost one would pay to purchase the materials. For the company that builds or designs new product this printer is ideal for now you can design the build with your normal software and then print it out so you have a good model or prototype to show and build

Imagine being able to create almost anything displayed on our computer screen. Imagine having able to take any 2 dimensional images and create a 3 dimensional object. The only thing that limits us is our creativity. Well 3D printing allows just that! Invented by a man named Chuck Hall, 3D printing allows us to take a digital file from a computer and “print” a real life physical 3 dimensional object.…

A common expression is, “Man born not of his own time.” Fundamentally, this quote means a person 's mannerisms, thoughts, ideas, and dreams are based out of a different time frame than he or she presently lives in. Technology is a defining feature to the timeline of human evolution. Each major technological advancement introduces new opportunities, as well as obstacles, that aid or hinder mankind in advancing to the next step in their evolutionary chain. The 21st century 's latest technology is the 3D printer, a device capable of redefining day to day lives by printing all of our needs. It is claimed 3D printing will be an absolute positive technology to benefit mankind, but we will soon encounter situations where uncontrolled, illegal substances…

Today, AM is used to create end-products used in many different applications, from aerospace, automotive and even biomedical prosthetics. AM can create highly customizable products, and it’s this advantage that is being exploited in today’s world of manufacturing. 3D printing and AM are almost interchangeable. AM is the broader term, encompassing processes such as Rapid Prototyping (RP) which focused on creating preproduction visualization models, but the models weren’t actually used in the end product. Rapid Tooling (RT) the production of tooling to be used in another process like cores, patterns, or jigs.…

‘Rapid prototyping ‘paved the road for all the 3d printing companies out today. (Rapid prototyping created prototypes for a manufacturer to create a prototype of a product with plastics before executing their plans and mass producing them from their required material.) The original advance in 3d printing technology started with MIT(Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and through 3d systems, a huge innovator in the 3d printing world. Charles Hull first created his Stereolithography apparatus(SLA) machine in 1983, and then 3 years later, in 1986, went on to patent his creation, and co-found 3d Systems with that success. On the other hand, Carl Deckard was working on his own RP(Rapid prototype) machine, which he termed Selective Laser Sintering(SLS).…

In the same way, additive manufacturing is “turning design and manufacturing on its head as we know it” according to Avi Reichental, the former CEO of 3D Systems (Reichental). The first 3D printer was invented in 1983 by Chuck Hull, but at the time, no one knew how his invention would impact society (Reichental). Today, new technological innovations are led by 3D printing because of its limitless manufacturing capabilities. 3D printers create objects by depositing material in layers to form 3D shapes, making it perfect for producing complex objects. It is even possible for 3D printers to produce parts with internal mechanisms in multiple different materials without the need for assembly.…

There was little success and the majority was unsuccessful. The company that did see success was MakerBot. The company is from the U.S. and they managed to introduce personal 3D printing to the world by using free software, like the open-source Meshlab and Google Sketchup to create 3D digital models. They also manage a website called Thingiverse.com that was inspired by Andrew Boyers vision of building a community where people can share their 3D printer ideas. The site showcases peoples 3D designs, ideas, and products as well as provides the blueprints to make these designs on the MakerBot Thing-O-Matic 3D printer.…
