Dave Stevens is an artist from British Columbia, Canada. He created his piece at home using the hand printing technique from a woodblock plate. The woodblock was a plank piece of fur. It had little bit of grain to it, which he says makes it hard to carve sometimes and he prefers yellow cedar. For inking he used and old roller from an offset press that a woodwork teacher had fixed up for him. I particularly liked it because it had handles to the sides just like a kitchen rolling pin. It seemed like it was easier to control and it could be easily rested by the handles in-between inking. The pressure no doubt applied the ink differently from a single handled roller but he got a good even print from it! He purposefully did several passes in different
