Social Media America and other countries around the world are in a fast-growing technological age. In January 2015, about 2.078 billion people around the world used a form of social media (Kemp). That is a little bit over a fourth of the world's population! Celebrities are gaining followers, viral videos achieve their weekly fame, and individuals are posting their latest food confection. Social media is everywhere and is consuming the lives of many individuals. Recently, many people are debating on whether social media benefits a person or not because of health issues and possible online predators, but with its increasing popularity, technology inhibits an ability to connect groups of people, spread news in a matter of seconds, and aid in education, making it a gain for individuals across the world. Schools are implementing modern gadgets into their curriculum. It cuts down on wasted paper and provides convenience for the teacher as well as the student. Teachers spend less time grading homework, while students have less baggage to haul around campus. The technology also adds an interactive touch to learning rather than scribbling notes from lectures. percent of schools in America are taking advantage of this technological craze. Tangible textbooks are being phased out slowly. Essays are submitted online rather than being handed in as a hard copy.
