Hedy Lamar, a beautiful actress, proposed the idea of frequency hopping, after considering how a piano can jump from one note to the next. She wondered if radio signals could duplicate this behavior. After proving that her idea could work, she told the navy about how it could help their communications in the war. They rejected the idea and suggested that she collect war bonds, but years later the invention made a breakthrough, and Hedy Lamar never accepted anything for her accomplishment. Wifi is one of the most important inventions in my life because it makes travel safer, enhances our learning, and helps us communicate with people far from us much easier. To begin, Wifi has made getting places quickly and safely easier than ever. With the GPS, you can look up the quickest route, find out how long it will take, and how far away it is at the touch of a button. You never see anybody using maps anymore, and for good reasons. GPS's make it so much easier to find directions to where you are headed. The GPS is a great tool for me because my family is always going on day trips and I am usually the one to read and pull up the directions on how to get there. Without the GPS, finding directions would be a much longer, frustrating process because you would have to locate the roads and keep checking your map …show more content…
We use it for our iPads, laptops, and programs. These things assist us in completing research, lessons, and creating documents or presentations. Our schools have become so dependent on technology, the Internet, and Wifi, that without it, we would be totally lost. Wifi is important to me personally because with having to execute multiple projects in a short span of time, I would take much longer if I had to incorporate the time spent checking out books from a library or searching in encyclopedias.
