As I am listening to Maria Covarrubias I can see the pain in her eyes as she recounts her story. The pain that I was not aware of until now. I understand that we go through many difficult things. However, I was able to relate to some of the situations that she went through. I was able to see that we are so much alike and that makes me really proud; knowing that because of her strength and her courage to make it in life, she was able to get us to where we are today. If she made it this far without knowing the language or anyone here and she has been able to provide for all of us. That just makes me wonder how far I will go. How much more can I do for my journey in life?
How do you see that gender has impinged on, or enhanced (or both) her
