This role immediately thrust Félix to the summit of Mexican cinema. During the 1940’s, Maria made 18 films and continued until the 1970’s. Overall, she completed a total of 47 films that were made in Mexico, Spain, France, Italy, and Argentina. Maria was portrayed as a “contemptuous man-eater” in most of her films.
