My group consists of members from very ethnically diverse backgrounds. For instance, Ashley was born in Trinidad, but moved to the United States when she was a young girl. Lartigue is a Creole African-American, who grew up in New Orleans, LA. Lartigue and his family only moved to Houston, after Hurricane Ike, destroyed Louisiana. Vincent is a native Houstonian, like myself, but we grew up in different areas of Houston. A perfect example of diversity within a Fortune 500 company is Macy’s department store. Macy’s makes diversity a priority, when in search of employees. “While companies like Macy’s have made diversity a concrete criteria in their last few board searches, not all companies outline to recruiters that difference is a priority” (Fairchild, 2015). Then again, that may very likely be why the retailer is ranked so highly, versus “other” companies.
The Coordinators Group plans to discuss diversity by exemplifying themselves as a group. The Coordinators Group members consist of multi-cultural backgrounds, along with informational diversity, which will assist the head group with creativity and perspectives. Thus, as long as the Coordinators Group can effectively manage any conflict that arises, the group shall ultimately be successful in leading the other groups toward a successful VegOut UHD
