The concept of diversity encompasses acceptance and respect. It means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. For example, people, religions and sexes to form a group or community.
Listener Relevance: In our society today, some people see diversity as a positive and negative thing. Diversity gives people different view about our world and makes them step out of their comfort zone. In America, some people openly welcome diversity, while others are against. However, without understanding and support from adults these mixes often result in bullying.” Throughout middle and high school, I was bullied and part of those reasons were, I was African, my accent, the way I look and dressed. Kids used to call me all kind of names because I was different. Even though I was still being bullied, I met some other kids who were more open minded because they were exposed to different cultures and people.
