Lydia Darragh the American Spy Lydia Darragh was an American Spy. She was born in the 1700’s. She lived in Dublin. Later she still lived in Dublin but went where the Britians went to get information. Her contribution was that she helped the Americans win the war. She was born in the year 1729 in Dublin. There was no specific date when she was born. Her parents were John and Mary Barrington. She was 1 in 6 kids that her parents had. When she was growing up I haven’t found that she went to school. She had met the family tutor named William Darragh. On November 2, 1753 she married William Darragh the tutor. Later they moved to America. When they were there they had 9 children but 4 were miscarried. When they were talking she heard that that they were planning an attack on the Americans. She lied to the officers that she didn’t hear anything, but she really did. She was not on the side of the Britians so she told George Washington about the attack so they can be ready. Sadly she died on December 28,1789.
