They have been given freedom and have been given equal rights, but still there are ways that they are being treated unfairly. This change is the loss of involvement of religion in government. Because the United States of America is a large majority Christian, I feel that people who are not Christian have an unequal playing field in politics. Not only is this morally wrong, but it is also written in the first amendment that there is to be a separation between church and state. If we are to hold on to the founding principles, then we need to hold all amendments viable. I think the only way to do this is to have a person running for office not be allowed to say his or her religious preference. This would make the race for potential candidates less about religion and more about political ideas and value. If that happens, then it will result in a more equal level for political elections and will honor the first amendment of separation between church and
