Today, the purpose of this letter is to question you, just like what you have done to all your victims. However, I am merely asking you, not forcing you to answer by asserting “… power over another [man]”. Even if I did have the power, I would not do so, because I am human whereas you are an insane old creature with no kindness for others. The individual only has power … as he ceases to be an individual. You know the Party slogan: ‘Freedom is Slavery’… Slavery is freedom. Alone – free – the human being is always defeated.’” So by showing the second slogan, you are putting the citizens at your mercy for they do not know how to govern themselves because they believe that they are not able to and you also said that “Reality exists in the human mind, and nowhere else.” If, for once, the Inner Party is correct and the statement is true, then the people will never be able to govern themselves because what they think is reality. However, that is very unlikely so a more proper reason is that the government brainwashed them when growing up into thinking they needed to depend on the government. Finally, we come to “IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.” I believe that this is discouragement for people not avoid knowledge because of the consequences they will face. By not knowing, one would have faith in the Party and will love the Party. Therefore, one does not need to worry about the government vaporizing or catching them.
