According to Kohlberg’s theory, Anna should be in level one which is the preconventional reasoning level. Kohlberg’s preconventional reasoning believes that children reach moral decisions by means of not wanting to be punished or for some type of reward. Preconventional reasoning has two levels. In the second level, children pursue their own interest but are mindful of others too. I would classify Anna as being in the Kohlberg’s second level, the conventional level. I had a conversation with Anna about school and her friends. I asked her to tell me what makes a good friend. She said, “someone who doesn’t lie to their friends and cares about them”. On which parts of the case study do you believe your work was not at the level you desired? Why? I feel like I did my case study to the best of my ability with the knowledge that I have as a future educator. I only wish that I had more time to help Anna overcome her fears of not wanting someone to hear her sing and her concern over her appearance.
C. Which parts of this case study, if any, do you believe did not meet the standards? I believe all aspects of this case study were developed with the standards in mind. This assignment has been very beneficial to me as a future educator. I was able to practice different methods of teaching and analyze one student on a personal level on her educational journey.
D. After completing this case study, which parts of human development do you believe are more understandable to you? I have a better understanding now of a child’s cognitive, social, and moral development after completing this case study.
E. After having completed this case study, which parts of human development are not as understandable to you as you previously thought? I have a better understanding of human development now after having completed this assignment, but I want to continue to learn and increase my knowledge of what makes each child different so I can meet my future student’s individual
