Kenneth A. Myers III, works for The Defense Threat Reduction Agency, otherwise known as DTRA. Kenneth Myers gave an interactive talk about Protecting America from Weapons of Mass Destruction. Myers connected to his audience because he used well known examples such as the elimination of chemical weapons in Syria and dealing with ebola. Using examples that people already had knowledge about allowed Myers to describe exactly what his organization does to protect the world from major harm. Myers used verbal tools to help his audience understand his message. He would pause after each major point that he would make. This allows the listener to think before more information that his thrown at them, limiting a snowball effect of confusion. Another way that Myers was able to communicate well, was through his use group participation. Asking questions kept his large audience both on its toes and mentally engaged. Myers would ask questions and would not fear silence, refusing to move on unless his questions were answered. Another way that Myers conveyed his message was to both walk around a lot and use hand motions as he spoke. To the easily distracted listener, this helped to keep focus on the speaker while he talked. This presentation was both engaging and informative. Also, the information was very well broken down so that everyone that attends can understand. Kenneth Myers had a way of speaking that connected to you, using major global examples and vocabulary that was not out of the average person's mind. I would recommend
