This notion of making them confess and then touting them as a hero is something that I found extremely interesting along with how it would be for the sake of Justice. This poses an interesting question to the reader and what they believe that justice is and if they agree with that sense of justice; as, everyone has their own sense of justice they align with. That is why I believe it is important to ask the reader what they feel is the justice that is being seen within the scene.
2. In chapter 12 of The Martyred, He and Mr. Shin began talking about how Mr. Shin witnessed the murder of the ministers. During this exchange, it is clear that Mr. Shin is hiding something and says “’who are you to act as the guardian of the truth? Suddenly, I felt tired. For whom are you guarding it? For whom, Mr. Shin?” (Kim 61). When does one know if it is appropriate to guard the truth in the face of higher meaning? When protecting the truth does it protect the one in which the truth is connected to or yourself?
a. This question of someone being adamant on keeping the truth hidden is something that I feel is important to the individual. It is vital to know when one should keep the truth hidden or reveal it; as sometimes the truth can hurt more than it helps despite being honest.
