Although many people do not do want to admit it, there are still many stereotypes and outward acts of discrimination against Jews. Some of the stereotypes that people hold about Jews include the following: Jews are greedy, they have big noses, they all wear kippahs, etc. A lot of stereotypes of the Jews derive from the same ones from the past. They are seen as greedy, because they ran the banks in Europe for a long time (Cohen). Since the stereotypes are still in place, acts of discrimination and antisemitism are still present in the modern world. One example of modern antisemitism can be found in a recent soccer game in the netherlands. Some of the fans began chanting “Hamas, hamas, Jews to the gas”, “Jews burn the best”, and “Kill the Jews”. In the 1980s, these chants were mainly incited by neo-Nazis, but today they have expanded to other people with antisemitic thoughts
