The holocaust was the largest Jewish persecution that killed over 6 million jews during world war 2. The holocaust was a state-sponsored persecution by the nazis to rid the world of the Jewish. Nazis believed that they were the racial superior and that the jews were inferior and an alien threat to the germans. Many jews were deported out of the country before the war and the remain jews inside of Germany were faced with high discrimination. When World War 2 broke out several rules were placed to limit the freedom of the jews, they were unable to enter certain areas in Germany, curfews were set, and the food was rationed and was smaller distribute. In 1939, nazi officials picked out 70000 with disabilities and mental illness were to be sent be gassed, even though it wasn’t specifically Jewish who were gassed it was the start of the massacre. After many of Germany's conquering during the war, one of Hitler's top commander asked for the need for “the final solution”, a plan to eliminate the jews in their territory. They began transporting jews who were deemed unuseful such as the weak, old, and the very young to concentration camps such as Auschwitz where they began experimenting ways of mass murder. The first mass murder started at Belzec then opened up a chain of other camps in such as Chelmno, Sobibor, Treblinka, and Majdanek. The Nazis tried to keep it a secret from the rest but were unable to due to the mass amount of killing. At Auschwitz alone, there were 2 million people murdered by large reassembling project, in other places jews would either die of starvation, diseases or by being gassed to death.
