Informative Speech

Have you ever wondered why you communicate better with some people than others or why some jobs seem more appealing to you. Or maybe, you are super detail-oriented and organized and it drives you crazy when your partner in the group work isn't. As much as we often get frustrated with others in our life who dont think the same way we do. As much as we like to think we are right. The truth is our personality types are just different.

Today, we will be looking at Myers-Brigss Type Indicator or Myers-Briggs Personality test to have a better understanding of these differences.

A feeler tends to base their decisions on their values and sense of what is right, or the feelings deep inside, their gut feelings. They also consider relationships and impact of choices on other people.. A feeler might ask, what is the right thing to do? How will people feel about this decision?

Finally, we come to the last facet. Judging-perceiving. Another one where the words seem to make no sense. It has nothing to do with being judgmental or perceptive. This category describes how you prefer to organize your life. In a nutshell, a judger prefers to plan and schedule things out, they like structure and organizations, they love making to-do list and they don't feel comfortable with last minute changes or surprises. And they feel satisfied when they complete task. Perceiver on the other hand like to take things as they come you know go with the flow. They prefer to leave things open-ended and flexible. They are excited by surprises and often enjoy responding to urgent situation. They get satisfaction from having many options available to them. An easy way to look at this one is to ask yourself how do you respond to deadlines. If you plan your work out far in advance and manage to get everything done on time, you are probably judging. On the other hand, if you see deadlines more of a suggestion than a rule and you keep changing your work up to the last second. You are a perceiver.
