Mrs. Sanders says she wants students to succeed, but all I hear on the announcements is about sports. Her coming into classrooms checking on teachers doesn't do anything and making the teachers write down the goals of the lesson is useless. I know myself doesn't look at that nor do I care about it because it isn't beneficial at all. I could really care less about how sports teams are doing. In the text Smith says, “ It don't mean a bloody thing to me, only to him, and it means as much to him as it would mean to me if I picked up the racing paper and put my bet on a hoss I didn't know, had never seen, and didn't care a sod if I ever did see” ( page 1208) Smith doesn't care about running or winning, but the governor does. I relate to this because so many people care so much about sports. I do not care about them at all. I'd rather have a better education because nearly none of the people doing sports will make a career out of it. Thy district has no problem spending money on sports equipment and other things related to it, but won't send teachers to be more educated for AP classes.
