The first Key term that needs to be defined is ethics. Ethics can be defined as the moral principles that govern a person’s behaviour or the conducting of an activity. In addition, another essential key term is human trafficking. Human trafficking is the movement of people, typically for the purposes of forced labour or commercial sexual exploitation. Human trafficking is said to be a form of modern slavery where people profit from the control and exploitation of others. This brings me to the next key term which is slavery. The Qur’an sought to humanise and regulate the practice of slavery rather than seek its immediate abolition. This is evident in many Islamic sacred tests like the Qur’an. For example where it says, “If you fear that (in your marital obligations) you will not be able to observe justice among them, then content yourself with only one, or the captives that your right hand possesses (Koran, 4:3);” This quote demonstrates how the Qur’an permitted slavery. Since then, Islam has not only called for the freeing of sex slaves, making sex permitted only inside the institution, but has also made freeing a slave as a way of compensating for wrongdoings. Furthermore, nowhere in the Qur’an is a Muslim allowed to make a new slave, and the Qur’an makes freeing a slave a good deed that makes up
