Human Trafficking has many effects on the trafficked hence human dignity is taken away as they live oppressed lives as the victims are physically and psychologically harmed for life. Religion plays a huge role in protecting basic human rights (ACRATH.org, 2015). This is shown in the Bible, as it teaches us that we are all equal and everyone deserves to be treated fairly. God created them in His image, every life is of great value, and God loves all individuals (Genesis 1:26), (Open Bible, 2015). This suggests that God is profoundly against modern day slavery and no human no matter what it cost their dignity must not be compromised at any price. Each and every one must be valued and cared for at all times. This is relative to slavery; “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you” (Matthew 7:12, (Open Bible, 2015). These principles certainly apply to those who perpetrate and hurt the victims of trafficking through the illegal practice of human trafficking, everyone that does such dirty job earns illegal money likewise place themselves in their position as slaves to know what it actually feels like (Open Bible, …show more content…
The victims of slavery cannot leave their situation as the victims are hopeless and have no option; the trafficked are also blackmailed and coerced to stay (Human Trafficking.org, 2015). ACRATH reported that in 2014, 500 people came to Australia for holiday visa it was a way to enter Australia by perpetrators but were forced to work as slaves, under forced labour; long unpaid hours in factories (ACRATH, 2015). It’s the government responsibility to stop and take action and realise that every individual has the right to life, which includes right to food, education and employment no matter where you belong or who you are (Human Trafficking.org, 2015). Organisation in Australia for instance Anti-Slavery Project and ACRATH both aims to stop any victims of trafficking from entering the borders of Australia and helping the victims to recover from extremely harsh events that they have experienced that are already in Australia (Human Trafficking.org, 2015 and ACRATH,
