As the global temperature increases, so does the destructive weather. The tropical region of the world are suffering from extremely vigorous storms like hurricanes and typhoons. Tropical storms feed off of a combination of warm water and wind. Due to the higher temperature of the ocean’s surface, storms are being greatly energized, thus increases its destructive power. Climate change is potentially one of the most serious threats humanity can face. The shifts in temperature are causing catastrophic natural disasters, which results in higher death tolls and the increase in destructive damage. As stated in “Warmer World, Savage Storms” written by Lester R. Brown “Katrina-one of the eight hurricanes that hit the southeastern U.S. in the 2004-05- was the most-financially destructive hurricane (causing upwards of $100,000,000,000 in damages) ever to make landfall anywhere” (414). If the trend of high Earth temperature continues the planet and the people on it will suffer drastically …show more content…
It’s up to all the 7 billion human beings to step up and take responsibility, global warming is not an issue that one can just brush away, it needs to be tackled together. Making a difference does not mean you have to turn your life upside down, it can be as small as taking a bus to work, or if you 're up for it take a bike. Many industries take the shortcuts and use cheaper, faster methods but slow and steady wins the race. In the end the residents of Earth will be the ones to

As the temperature increases weather patterns are exaggerated, with a tendency of more arid climates. This means increased desertification, more powerful storms, and harsher droughts. Large bodies of ice, like glaciers or the polar ice caps, have also been melting into the sea causing higher sea levels and increased acidity in the oceans (Shaftel). Extreme weather has always been a possibility, but as temperatures continue to climb the likelihood of these catastrophic events rises with it. These cascading problems are devastating our environment and will only continue…

This hurricane ranked in the top five deadliest in the United States. It created havoc killing roughly twelve hundred people and accumulating over one hundred billion dollars in property damage. Although hurricanes and global warming are not directly related, the result of global warming with increasing ocean temperatures directly affects the intensity of what a hurricane can do to the coastlines. People cannot change the fact that hurricanes will occur, but they can change how destructive they are. Since warmer ocean temperatures relates to the outcome of a hurricane, we must stop producing CO2 into the atmosphere because it is warming ocean water.…

Since the late 1800s, the average global temperature has risen by more than 1.5°F, and there are places that have seen increases of twice this amount. This warming is responsible for numerous changes beyond the thermometer. First, not only is the air temperature rising, but ocean temperatures are as well, and this is exacerbating the melting of glaciers and sea ice. This is shifting sea levels, something also affected by changes in precipitation patterns. The strength and timing of extreme weather events are also being altered.…
