Our lives are manic and stressful which causes us to just focus on ourselves. We have become oblivious to our surroundings and forget the important rock we live on, planet Earth. Everyday we take part in activities which contribute to global warming, whether it is unintentional or willful. We as individuals have a belief system, that we are mere slice of the pie that contributes to global warming. But in a grander scheme of things the general populous emits alarming amounts of carbon footprints. Failing to realize and grasp this concept that all human beings are responsible for global warming, is surely our downfall.

As the global temperature increases, so does the destructive weather. The tropical region of the world are suffering from extremely vigorous storms like hurricanes and typhoons. Tropical storms feed off of a combination of warm water and wind. Due to the higher temperature of the ocean’s surface, storms are being greatly energized, thus increases its destructive power. Climate change is potentially one of the most serious threats humanity can face. The shifts in temperature are causing catastrophic natural disasters, which results in higher death tolls and the increase in destructive damage. As stated in “Warmer World, Savage Storms” written by Lester R. Brown “Katrina-one of the eight hurricanes that hit the southeastern U.S. in the 2004-05- was the most-financially destructive hurricane (causing upwards of $100,000,000,000 in damages) ever to make landfall anywhere” (414). It’s up to all the 7 billion human beings to step up and take responsibility, global warming is not an issue that one can just brush away, it needs to be tackled together. Making a difference does not mean you have to turn your life upside down, it can be as small as taking a bus to work, or if you 're up for it take a bike. The best way to bring about change is if we all stand in unity and voice our opinion to the industries about their tactics and procedures that cause harm to the planet. Many industries take the shortcuts and use cheaper,faster methods but slow and steady wins the race. In the end the residents of Earth will be the ones to
