He did many great things as a president, including fight the civil war and free most the slaves . Lincoln was a great person and that’s why his nickname was honest abe. He was the best president this whole entire history of presidents could be. In 1825 Abraham lincoln served in the black hawk war. During that time he turned 16. He also served in the battle of kellogg's grove and in the black hawk war. He was a volunteer in the black hawk war. He didn’t do much combat , but he did help bury the militia dead. On august 6, 1832 abraham lincoln loses an election. He got elected illinois general assembly 3 time within the years of 1834 and 1838. With him being in the army made him into an exceptional leader.

He argued with what the founding fathers said that”All men are created equally.” This means that african americans and americans are the same. His thoughts become clear when he was in an election in 1858. Stephen douglas had blamed him for backing up the “negro equality”. Here is what he said in the fourth debate between him and stephen on september 18, 1885 “I will say then that I am not,nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races,” He was actually going to say he opposed that blacks had the right to vote and to serve on juries.
