Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1865 in Hodgenville, Kentucky. As a young man, he got the nickname "Honest Abe" before he became a lawyer or a politician. When running for president in 1859, his campaign slogan was also "Honest Abe". His own writing show that he valued honesty. Abraham Lincoln was an American Statesman and lawyer who served as the 16th President of the United States from March 1861 until his assassination in Apr8il 1865. Despite a challenging upbringing, Abraham Lincoln was able to positively influence the United States in the areas of politics and economic during the Progressive Era.
Abraham Lincoln's childhood led him to be known as one of the greatest presidents of United States.
