Throughout this observation I could to assess the child’s emotional development in a embarrassing and common situation in children’s daily life.
This little incident occurred was a good opportunity for Ben’s learning. That new experience could provide me a broad vision about how Ben is developing his emotional side, and how he can handle facing a difficult situation.
Some primary emotional has emerged while I observed him. When the other boy was trying to force physical contact, Ben displayed some signs of fear, demonstrating that he still doesn’t know how to react and defend himself, trying scape or get rid of this situation, so the only alternative he found was ask for help and cry, but on the other hand, I was very pleased of his behaviour, he didn’t show in any moment any aggressive, neither pushing nor pulling, and showed no sigh of anger or any negative feelings. …show more content…
In my point of view this experience is inter-related with Erik Erikson’s (1968) theory of personality development. He describes the first stage from zero to two years as a Basic Trust x Mistrust called HOPE. In this stage children may suffer some situation of distress where they don’t fell secure enough, so this period is closely linked with attachment, where the child believes the caregiver or parents are reliable, so I reached a conclusion that Ben’s reacted that way because he was seen the caregiver(myself) as a trust person to solve and save him from strange and unfamiliar situation, what is considerably relevant for his
