Parent Interviewee #1 has a 16-year-old girl
Parent Interviewee # 2 has a 3-year-old son and 13-year-old son.
How do you expect your children (child) to act toward you? Toward other children? (Ask for examples)
Interviewee # 1 stated that the expectation of her 16-year-old daughter is that she respects her parents. She is very connected with her daughter, she wants her daughter to confide in her with personal situations. She states that when her daughter was younger, she did not yell at her or spoke bad words in front of her. And she expects that her daughter at any age has the same mutual respect that she has shown her. She also stated that she can be her daughter’s best friend, however, if discipline is required she will go ahead and discipline her child. The expectations are that her daughter treats other children or individuals with respect. She is very keen on respect because if she doesn’t respect anyone who will she respects. She wants her daughter to treat others like she would want to be treated.
