What baggage does the current administration in Pakistan carry? Have they ever been accused of being corrupt? Any scandals? What effect does that baggage have on the people? How do the media influence/expose corruption? How free is the media to expose corruption?
From the time that Pakistan was created there have been many corrupt leaders, such as the previous President Asif Ali Zardari, however the current President Mamnoon Hussain is not corrupt. According to president.gov, "Mamnoon Hussain is known as a man of impeccable integrity and courage against all odds." We can see his integrity as he stands up for what is right. Mamnoon has stood up and been devoted to having a democracy in Pakistan. In 1999 Mamnoon was politically arrested because he stood up against a totalitarian military dictator. But even with having this arrest in his past it has not affected him politically with the people because they still elected him to be President in 2013. President Mamnoon has had a pretty good past, however we cannot say the same thing about the current Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif. Nawaz Sharif has a very interesting past which includes being the prime minister 3 times now and even being banished from Pakistan for a period of time. Nawaz Sharif was first made the prime minister in 1990. The previous Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto had been released by the President Ghulam Ishaq Khan for either being corrupt or inefficient.
