The film gives insight into the White Rose opposition to Nazism for a certain extent as some aspects about the group cannot be learnt from the film. When considering whether or not to drop the leaflets at the university Sophie said it was, “Too dangerous and not worth the risk.” This shows what the Nazi state was like at the time and that fear was put into those who wanted to speak up. This point is also reflected in other sources as it says she was, “an example of standing up for what is right even at the risk of one’s own life. Another example of the Nazi’s use of repression can be seen through the prolonged and meticulous interrogations that the Nazi’s used on those who opposed them. This method aimed to get a confession out of the suspected individuals while also aiming to have the accused release all the names and information they had know. While much can be learnt about Nazi repression several important aspects of Nazi repression were not seen through the film. Such include the controlling of the arts which included things such as music. This was not seen in the film but was a method of repression by the nazis. Given that the film was based off the actual transcripts from interrogations of Sophie it is likely what was seen during the meticulous interrogations was accurate. However given that this was Nazi records certain things may have been left out not giving the complete story of the
