Beatrice and Benedick are very comfortable around each other because they tease. Now comparing Beatrice and Benedick's and Hero and Claudio's relationships is totally opposite. Beatrice and Benedick are constantly teasing and bantering all of the time. For example in Act I when the men all return from the war Beatrice says “I wonder that you will still be talking, Signior Benedick: nobody marks you.” Then Benedick replies “What! my dear Lady Disdain, are you yet living?” Beatrice cynically replies “Is it possible Disdain should die while she hath such meet food to feed it as Signior Benedick?” This snarky banter continues for two pages. Then we have Hero and Claudio who rarely ever even speak to one another. When Hero is accused of being unfaithful Claudio automatically jumps to the conclusion that she, with no doubt, is guilty. Of course the reader knows that the culprit was not Hero, it was Margret. Fast forwarding to the end of the book when everyone is happy and life becomes dandy again, paying attention closely shows Hero never confronts Claudio about the misunderstanding. Most women would be mad if their fiancé just suddenly accused them of cheating with another man. This indeed shows that Hero and Claudio's relationship is completely out of
