These 100 performances were a series of examinations into the nature of time; she performed for six hours each day. Each day consisted of movement created around a single task that marks the passage of time. For example, walking in circular paths for ten miles’, counting continually from one to 5,800 and watching a sphere of ice melt. For an audience member observing, each performance would’ve felt different in length and quality due to the actions being performed. Some of the actions were personal and individual to Arsem, and others were more systematic and scientific.
