Many houseless people fall victim to this vicious cycle through economy crashes, substance abuse, lost jobs, and even just bad luck. Despite what circumstance it is that put them there, one does not want to be in that position. In order to escape living without a house, one must procure a job to save up enough money for rent. Well, finding a job in that case might be difficult; because without a proper address to put on applications, or to get ready at, it makes for obtaining and keeping a job rather almost impossible. Without the job, they can’t save up enough money to get back on their feet. Leaving them to struggle everyday to find shelter, food, money, and other necessities. It is a cycle that is hard to escape. That is not the case for many, a young girl named Sarah especially. During Sarah’s senior year of high, her parent’s decided to move and leave Sarah behind. With no job, it was virtually impossible for her to get an apartment. Sarah spent the majority of her senior year of high school couchsurfing between friends and family members, while looking for work. Some nights, Sarah had to resort to sleeping in her car, because she had nowhere else to do. Not only did Sarah have to focus more on where she was going to sleep that night, but she was unable to be carefree and have fun with friends. Sarah is by definition houseless; she has a low quality of life, because she is in a depressing state, does not have adequate shelter, and it is a hard cycle to escape without a job. Becoming houseless can happen to anyone, society should not attach harmful labels to those who do become
