As I felt the cold metal of the gun press against my head I shivered.
“Hello?” Said the officer “are you still there”
“Yes, yes sorry not dead… yet,” I said.
“No no stop talking like that sir we’re going to get you out of there.”
“Yeah that’s right, ummm what was I saying, oh right what they want.”
“Yes sir, that’s right what are their demands?”
“Well they want a helicopter, ummm 1 million dollars and safe passage out of the country”
“1 million dollars huh, wow that’s a lot of money they’re asking for… How long are they willing to wait?”
“They’re willing to wait three hours and after that they...”

“They start killing hostages… Starting with me”

There were a few doctors in the bank at the time but they didn’t have the necessary materials to save everyone and quite a few just closed their eyes and I don’t think they’re going to wake up again. Once they figured out that the police were coming in full force they kind of freaked, I heard one say that this “wasn’t how it was supposed to go” and another one say “crap how are we gonna deal with the cops man” they whispered a little more before the cops showed and they gave me the …show more content…
After about thirty seconds of waiting though I realized something was wrong, I turned around and I saw the squirrel. Ok, I thought, I have got to be hallucinating, but as the squirrel looked up at me I knew it was real. Just then the police burst in and the squirrel disappeared, I was hailed as a hero for taking down the criminals but I couldn’t get the image out of my head of the squirrel just sitting there and the criminals writhing on the ground. I don’t think I’ll ever forget how I had saved that squirrels life and he, in turn, saved
