Children should be able to go outside to play, and their parents should not have to worry about them being the next victim due to gun violence. Chicago should be noted for its beauty and culture rather than be overshadowed by deaths due to gun violence. If Chicago acknowledges that something must be done to reduce the gun violence rate, then they need to realize that it is time they take action and do something about it.

The teenage niece then took the gun, shot and killed 14 year old Endia Martin and injured another girl. According to statistics from KFVS news Chicago seized over 6500 illegal guns last year. Chicago should increment a plan to further investigate any gun related stop and try to further investigate how illegal guns are coming into the Chicagoland area and how to contain it. Containing the origin and flow of illegal weapons would decrease the amount of overall violence in Chicago dramatically. Containing the flow of illegal weapons would not be easy by any means, but assigning a police detectives to gun related stops would at least give the citizens of Chicago hope and a strategic plan that Chicago is making efforts to decrease the highest number of gun violence since recent records
