At my school, there was a before and after school care that parents could sign their kids up for. Even though there were many working mothers, they still maintained the traditional roles of a mother. Though the working moms could not volunteer in the classroom like some of the stay at home moms could, they were still there to drop off and pick up the kids. It seemed that in my community, the mothers fixed their schedules around the kids more than the fathers. In most families, both parents worked, but the mothers made it possible to attend more school events and continued to have the traditional mother
