In the media piece, Gotta Share, the speaker, John Reynolds, was going to announce the release of a new social media platform, Twirlr. Reynolds requested the audience to turn off their cellular devices for the duration of this presentation, as he wanted their full attention. However, after his request, an audience member started to sing about the reasons why he could not turn off his phone. Soon after, other audience members joined him in singing about the reasons why they must not turn off their phones. The rest of the media piece consisted of various members of the audience joining the singing and exclaiming their reasons of why they must stay connected via technology and “gotta share”.
Intended Audience
There is a wide audience regarding this media piece. As it could be intended towards anyone who has a cellular device and uses social media. Especially, since in today’s modern society, most people use technology and social media.
