What is a goal? Many people question themselves what their goals are and what they want to succeed in life. Goals are the future you wish to endure and accomplish. They effect people in a way that makes them determined and confident. You set goals in life to live up to your own expectations and be proud. Everyone has them either big or small. Also, they can be a part of your dreams. Dreams that you could’ve had as a child and they develop as you grow older.
Goals are a huge part of my life. I’ve had many growing up. When I was little, all I wanted to be is a veterinarian because dogs are my absolute favorite thing in the world. That dream ended after finding out that vets have to put dogs to sleep and perform surgery on them. As my life went

The first one is to get good grades this semester to be able to graduate after my years to attend at college. I want I be able to get a job afterwards and start a family. By getting a good job I can provide and make them happy just like my parents did for me. To be like them are definitely one of my goals in life. I can make this goal happen if I study hard, take good notes, and have confidence. Another goal this semester is to develop better studying strategies. I am in a class to help me learn how to be a better studier and student overall. One last goal for the semester is to make more friends. I am not a social butterfly by any means but I am friendly. Coming to SDSU a lot of people from my high school attend here. I hang out with them a lot, but an enormous part of college is meeting people, right? Like said earlier, I played basketball. From second grade to seventh grade I played. My freshman year of high school I became the basketball manager so I could still be a part of the team. Also, my freshman year I was manager for the volleyball team for the same reason. When I was little I played softball and had the most fun with it. I grew out of it for basketball. In sixth grade my neighbor asked me if I wanted to play on her team from Sioux Falls. That was when my new love was created. I practiced all the time and pitched till my arm fell off (not literally). One thing that not a lot of people know about me is that I have a passion for singing. Growing up, I played the piano but as a kid I got bored of it. Music is really something that touches my heart because no matter how I’m feeling, it makes me happy. I was in choir all four years of high school and loved every second of it. There were about 100-200 student and they became a second family to me. Outside of school, I was involved in church activities such as D-camp. This taught me to be myself and if someone doesn’t like it, then they don’t deserve to be in your life. If the sports taught me anything, it’s to never give up and winning isn’t everything. Always try your hardest in what you believe in. Choir taught me that being popular isn’t everything either. High schoolers struggle with this trying to fit being someone you aren’t will
