Baseball

Baseball has always been one of my favorite sports, and it will always be the longest sport I’ve played. A total of 9 years in Khoury league and 2 years in high school, so all in all I have been playing this sport almost all my life.

I started baseball with the Red Bud T-ball team, the team had a count of 15 people including me and excluding the coaches. Those 15 kids playing on that team became some of my bestest friends and greatest teammates to have. Most of them ended up being with me until we couldn't play khoury league anymore, and then only about 3 or 5 of them played school ball with me. But it was funny because all my teammates always made fun of me being a pitcher because of what happened my very first game. I was out

Thanks to me and my buddy Jared Potts, we had the best outfield record in the whole Khoury league area. I played center because I was the one who would run from left field to catch the ball over in right field because we had that one guy who really didn’t care about the game. Well, as we walked I had noticed a blueish, greenish, truck driving down the silent back road. We really didn’t pay much attention until it started to get creepy and the truck started following us. By the time we had noticed we were already close to the house and we decided to dart into the woods, to a tree that we could climb and see what was going from. Our hearts were pounding from the anxiety, and I had noticed both of us had our hands clenched around our pocket knives that were probably a little too big to be carrying around in public. I started playing soccer for my school in first grade and kept on playing till third grade when I stopped because I found a sport I felt was much more appealing to me in the way the game was played and the teamwork needed to play. It could also be fact that my dad told me I needed to play, which was fine because I wanted to play anyway. This sport is baseball, an All-American sport played by athletes who are not afraid to put themselves in front of a 100 mile per hour ball. Baseball takes a great amount of one specific skill, hand-eye coordination. This skill is very hard to master, but is wonderful once you have a good grip on it.…

Softball has always been a favorite past time of mine. The heat from the summer days, the smell and taste of Gatorade and sunflower seeds always bring me to the memory of playing softball. Merriam Webster Dictionary defines softball as a sport that is similar to baseball but that is played on a smaller field and with a ball that is pitched underhand and that is larger and softer than a baseball When playing softball, you have to have a glove for catching, a bat for batting, cleats for playing in the field and a uniform to match your team. Some other necessary gear you would need is softball pants, team shirt, high top socks, and a bat bag to hold all of your gear. Although different positions call for different items.…
