There is more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere today than at any point in the last 800,000 years. The increase in carbon dioxide was caused by burning fossil fuels, such as coal, to create electricity and to fuel cars. If coal burning continues at this current rate, the world will continue to heat up, leading to melting glaciers, rising sea levels, and more severe air pollution. One major solution to global warming is alternative energy sources, more specifically solar panels.
