The efficiency of solar energy has recently become a controversial topic. Solar panels have become widely seen on roofs and road signs. It is believed by some people that solar energy will be able to be sufficient enough for people worldwide. Solar power is believed to have become the answer to Earth’s energy for the future.
Solar energy has become used by many people because they see how it can benefit the planet. These people see that solar energy and panels are beneficial due to the fact that it is
“Renewable, unobtrusive, and abundant” (Source B). The sun is not going to stop providing energy anytime soon, making it a reliable and renewable source. Solar panels are unobtrusive in the way that they don’t interfere with everyday life and

As the prices for oil become more expensive, people are going to want a new alternative source of energy. Thus causing more people to want

2 solar energy and the price going down. Although useful, it is believed that solar power is not the source of energy that should be used at the moment.
It may be true that solar energy is not going to be popular for about another ten years, solar panels should not cease production. As Edward Teller had once said “The science of today is the technology of tomorrow” (Source D). In other words, the findings that are being made now are the cause of the inventions and the resources that are going to be made to benefit us in the future. We have used our findings of solar energy to create solar panels for things used in everyday life, such as cars and houses. Now that we have this information, it makes sense to use it to our benefit and make the world a greener place.
In conclusion, solar energy is the answer to the Earth’s energy needs for the future. It

Ever since the industrial revolution, humanity has continued to increase energy consumption. Coal and oil are, of course, the most commonly used to meet the high demand followed by natural gas. Solar energy has the more potential than any other source, yet it is the source of so little of total energy produced. Fossil fuels will be exhausted first in less than 300 years (4), then natural gas. Solar power could provide unlimited pollution free energy.…

Professor of Economics, Paul Krugman speaks of solar power in the United States and it’s rise above fossil power in his New York Times op-ed, “Here Comes the Sun.” Is solar power really better than fossil power? Even though solar energy has a variety of benefits such as being abundant, environmentally friendly and also is declining in cost, it still has a few issues. One case of these issues is implementing that solar energy into the US electrical grid. According to the article “Green energy and Green power”, solar energy requires a great amount of space and consequently is frequently found in remote areas; transporting this energy to highly populated areas, such as cities, would be “inefficient and in some cases impossible”.…

"During the past years, numerous technological innovations have been made; however, the initiation of solar energy usage is perhaps the most promising. For instance, as a direct result of the rapid depletion of nonrenewable resources, human populations will eventually have to turn to the one inexhaustible resource that can help preserve the human living style; that is, the sun. To demonstrate, a German architect named Andre Broessel, recently created a solar power generator in the shape of a spherical lens that is not only convenient, but that is also highly efficient when compared to other traditional solar panels. Capable of powering homes, serving as a substitute for resources such as natural gas, and even capable of being utilized as a…

Economists and statisticians note that the amount of electricity bill could be lowered by over 50 percent. Moreover, the government, for example, of the United States has encouraged installation of the approved Energy Star solar per systems and the additional installation costs by around 30 percent are channeled towards the tax payment due. It, thus, provides an opportunity to save in more than one option as noted above. The third benefits of installing solar shingles are that they are easy to install. When compared to other panels that do not use shingles, they do not require much workforce and, hence, saves time and costs of installation because of their simplicity in installing and less workforce required (Cooper, 26).…

We have read that these technologies are environmentally friendly and that they can help reduce costs at the long run, but the initial investments are usually really high and people might just opt for “cheaper” alternatives from the beginning. Another of the barriers I believe that exists has to do with the infrastructure of these systems. Acquiring solar energy technologies mean that people might need to change the infrastructure of their houses or invest more money on them in order for these technologies to function efficiently, and the last one will be that not everyone is informed of the benefits, opportunities and features that these type of technologies are able to offer them – if people do not know about them, how are these technologies going to…

Active solar energy has the potential to produce a big portion of the electricity to the nation. Highly developed countries consume extensive amounts of energy per person. Our textbook, Environment 8e says, 20% of the world’s population lived in highly developed countries and used 60% of the commercial energy worldwide (Environment 8e; Pg. 196). I now have a better understanding of the ways, we as a nation, consume energy. We use high volumes of energy and we need to find new ways to conserve and use the allotted energy economically.…

Can Alternative Energy Ever Replace Fossil Fuels? Climate change and increasing levels of greenhouse gases have become an ever growing problem in the world today. There are many effects of climate change that have been documented from the latter part of the twentieth century until now. This significant change is due to the introduction of industrialization in society and how it has changed the equilibrium of the atmosphere by drastically increasing levels of CO2, a gas emitted from burning fossil fuels. We depend on fossil fuels for electricity and transportation.…
