The movie begins by depicting Earth as a wasteland. Pollution has become an uncontrollable issue and humans have abandoned the place. All signs of life have seemingly disappeared from the once lush planet (Wall-e). Robots called Wall-e’s (Waste Allocation Load Liter Earth-Class) have been assigned the task of cleaning the large amounts of pollution, but almost all of them have broken down over time and now, only one is in service (Wall-e).
