Getting a Liberal Education

Students today are frequently more concerned with how making a living and choosing a good career that can offer them a good paying salary rather than getting a Liberal Education, but what is liberal education? Many students today don’t know that exact definition of it or what it means. The Associations of American College & Universities in one of its article has defined liberal education as “approach to learning that empowers individuals and prepares them to deal with complexity, diversity, and change. That provides students with broad knowledge of the wider world as well as in-depth study in a specific area of interest.” What definition is trying to say is that education requires not only for students to study what they want to become in life, but to extent their knowledge in different areas of study, but what has been that tradition of liberal education, how is it different in today’s modern world, And most importantly how can liberal education improve society.
