They advise students on various issues concerning finances, school worries and anything else a high school senior is worrying about. They are there along the process to advise and be able to connect with a student in a way that leads the student to the college. I do not agree with the “bait and switch” that Coplin talks about in his article (B5.) Colleges should be truthful, he made clear in the same sentence yet, it is not a tactic that most schools use to lure students in. This ‘luring’ that they both included in their writings are just techniques schools may use occasionally. However, when a high school senior goes on a college visit they are required to be making critical decisions and in many cases a student is deciphering between a couple of options. Faculty and staff help students to become better educated to gain knowledge that they will need to help them in the world. Universities main purposes are to see improvement in students and to see them flourish as they are walking into adulthood and with that they are becoming more independent. They are choosing their life path which generally begins as the school career process begins. It is such an exciting time yet, it is also nerve-racking. However, most students have people to back them up who will never let them fail. Since they will be there whenever the student has problems. Universities and colleges are support groups, they want to see all the students succeed and flourish as they spend four or more years at a school. A liberal arts college could be for anyone who would be dedicated to their studies and who has the drive to
