FBAs are resourceful in examining student behavior, identifying problem behavior, and determining future interventions to eliminate a problem behavior. FBA is most important for its ability to focus on problem behavior and to understand the difficulties within student behaviors as to why they are triggered and so forth. From the information learned about the topic of FBA’s, educators can benefit greatly from further investigating the topic in which they can best understand how to effectively conduct a functional behavioral assessment as well as distinguish the reasons behind effective on specific assessments and when they should be used. In the field of special education, classroom management is an important factor in not only keeping a classroom flowing correctly, but also in assisting with students being able to effectively learn within a classroom environment with no disruptions from peers or themselves. With the research brought up about FBA’s, special education educators should further investigate the use of FBA’s as many do not know that they assist in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of an interventions to address challenging behavior (Neilson & McEvoy, 2004).
