An unhappy philosopher can be compared to the old fable named the fox and the grapes. This story tells us about a hunger driven fox who stops to reach grapes hanging off a high vine. The fox is simply unable to reach the higher grapes. As opposed to admitting defeat, it denies they are desirable by stating the fruit is sour. This shows that it is easy to despise what we don’t have .When a philosopher is too questioning about the nature that surrounds them and is simply unable to enjoy life, they invent stories where wisdom is major and essential to life. These stories, after being passed down will end up teaching future generations that it is better to be wise rather than being happy.
As the second speaker, I will further elaborate on my team’s points by discussing with you the lack of content any philosopher will feel due to the path they have taken and the true meaning of this topic. It is near impossible for any wise human to find every single answer to their endless questions as there will always be questions, that don’t necessarily require an answer. The more the philosophers learn, the more they realize how much they don't know.
