With this paper I will answer some ethical questions related to the Finer Bags company. They are a corporation who sell replica designer bags at significantly reduced prices- much to the chagrin of the high fashion design companies who have invested heavily in the design and marketing processes. Finer Bags does describe itself as a ”replica” producer; however once the bags leave their custody many are packaged and re-sold as originals which creates a corporate cultural dissonance (Brusseau, 2012), which many critics say they do nothing to protect consumers from- they are after all counterfeiters themselves.

1. Would you call honesty part of the corporate culture at Finer Bags? Yes, no, or both? Explain.

Yes honesty is definitely part of their corporate culture, they tell everyone that they sell “fake” bags so there are no lies in what they do ; however in the vision of John Locke they are honest in words but unethical in actions as they have not invested the effort into the design of the bags that makes them unique and desirable, they are merely copying someone else's work and profiting.

2 .Corporate cultural dissonance occurs when what actually happens on the ground doesn’t jibe with the principles supposedly controlling things from above. Do you suspect that dissonance is occurring here? Why or why not?
